1) SUBMERGED READING
where I devise my life.
Shadows fall thick
On the bivouac of papers and books
that makes me drowsy.
The night chases dreams
into closed diaries,
howling comets of ships
within adventurous havens
tears and torments of love
vibrant, all written
on the thrill of white sails
that the time corsair
displaced.
Only a tin bookmark
remains in place,
rudder to the route of reading
suspended witness
of expectations
in the bays of my eyes.
suspended witness
of expectations
in the bays of my eyes.
(N.B. This is just an experimental translation of the original Italian poem.)

2) AIRPLANES OVER MANHATTAN
stopped to wonder a moment …
… what if they raised Manhattan towers
like traps for mechanical birds?
since a thread must be
in this aerial slaughter
this blind run of aircrafts
against the glaring walls
fear dwells in the steel
and crystal traps
of the metropolis
fear is the magnet that hurls
the silver albatross
via inertia into the heated
abyss of hijacked sense
stopped to wonder a moment…
… black blowfly that dims
your thoughts
an eclipse in an eyeball
its crash into the glass soul,
death to your devout distraction
